What is CoolSculpting?

CoolSculpting is an FDA-approved non-surgical body contouring treatment that freezes fat cells using controlled cooling (cryolipolysis). The frozen cells die and are naturally eliminated by the body over 2 to 4 months.

Each applicator session takes 35 to 45 minutes. Multiple applicators can be used in parallel ("DualSculpting") to treat more areas faster. You will start to see results at 3 weeks, with full effect at 3 to 4 months after treatment. Most patients need 1 to 2 treatment cycles per area for visible reduction.

CoolSculpting is priced per treatment area. Common areas include the abdomen, flanks (love handles), inner/outer thighs, back fat, arms, and under the chin (CoolMini). Full treatment plans usually involve multiple areas and several sessions.

Frequently asked questions

How much does CoolSculpting cost in Orange County?
CoolSculpting in Orange County typically costs $750 to $1,500 per treatment area. Most patients treat 2 to 4 areas in a full plan, bringing total cost to $1,500 to $5,000 or more. Larger areas like the abdomen cost more than smaller areas like the chin.
Are CoolSculpting results permanent?
Yes. CoolSculpting kills fat cells permanently — they do not regenerate. However, significant weight gain can still cause remaining fat cells in untreated areas to expand. Results are long-lasting with stable weight.
How long does it take to see CoolSculpting results?
You will start to see fat reduction at 3 weeks, with full effect at 3 to 4 months after each treatment. Most patients need 1 to 2 treatment cycles per area for visible reduction.
Does CoolSculpting hurt?
The first 5 to 10 minutes feel cold and uncomfortable before the area goes numb. Most patients work on a laptop or watch TV during treatment. Soreness, numbness, and bruising are common for 1 to 2 weeks afterward.
What is paradoxical adipose hyperplasia (PAH)?
PAH is a rare side effect where treated fat cells grow larger instead of shrinking. It occurs in less than 1% of patients and typically requires surgical correction (liposuction). Always ask your provider about their PAH rate and experience.
