What's the recovery like for Microblading?

Everything you need to know about Microblading recovery — timeline, tips, what to avoid, and when to call your provider.

Typical downtime: About 7 to 14 days of healing — and your brows go dark before they soften

Recovery timeline

Days 1-2

Brows look bold, dark, and sharply defined — much darker than the final result. Mild redness and tenderness. Blot any lymph fluid gently and keep the area clean and dry.

Days 3-5

Brows darken further and may feel tight before scabbing begins. Do not pick — picking pulls out pigment and causes patchy results.

Days 6-10

Light flaking and scabbing shed naturally. Brows can look patchy or faded as the top layer comes off. This is normal.

Weeks 2-6

Color resurfaces and softens to its true shade. The 6-to-8-week touch-up perfects any gaps before the result is final.

Frequently asked questions

Why do my brows look so dark right after microblading?
Brows look much darker and bolder for the first several days, then lighten significantly as they heal and scab. The true, softer color appears at 2 to 6 weeks.
Why do my brows look patchy while healing?
Light scabbing and flaking around days 6 to 10 can make brows look patchy or faded. The color resurfaces afterward, and the touch-up fills any real gaps.
