What is Marionette Line Filler?
Marionette line filler uses hyaluronic acid injections to soften the vertical lines that run from the corners of the mouth downward toward the chin. These lines create a downturned, stern, or sad expression even at rest and are caused by both volume loss and gravitational descent of the lower face.
Treatment takes 20 to 30 minutes. Marionette lines are one of the more technically demanding areas to treat — overfilling creates an unnatural puffed appearance, while underfilling leaves the concern unaddressed. An experienced injector will often combine small amounts of filler in the marionette area with cheek support and possibly jawline treatment.
How much does Marionette Line Filler cost?
Marionette line filler nationally typically costs between $600 and $1,400 for both sides.

What to ask your provider
- Are my marionette lines best addressed with direct filler, cheek volume, or a combination?
- How do you avoid overfilling this area?
- What filler product do you recommend, and why?
- Should I also consider treatment of the nasolabial folds or jaw area?
- How long do results typically last in this area?
- Is filler the right long-term solution, or would Sculptra or a surgical option serve me better?
