What is a Facial Fat Transfer?
Facial fat transfer uses your own fat as a filler. Fat is removed by gentle liposuction from a donor area such as the abdomen or thighs, processed, and injected in small amounts into areas of the face that have lost volume, most often the cheeks, temples, under-eye hollows and jawline. The face looks overfilled at first, then a portion of the transferred fat is reabsorbed over three to six months, roughly half to two-thirds typically survives, and it varies by patient and by area. The final result is judged at six months, and a second session is not unusual.

Why would I choose fat over filler?

How much of the fat actually stays?

Do I need to have enough fat to donate?
