What is Laser Resurfacing?
Laser resurfacing uses focused light energy to remove damaged outer layers of skin and stimulate collagen in the deeper layers. It improves fine lines, sun damage, acne scars, age spots, and overall texture.
There are two main types. Ablative lasers (CO2, Erbium) remove the top layer of skin — more dramatic results, more downtime (7 to 14 days of peeling and redness). Non-ablative lasers (Fraxel, Clear + Brilliant) heat deeper layers without removing the surface — gentler, 1 to 3 days of downtime, but typically requires a series of 3 to 5 sessions.
Laser resurfacing is almost always priced per session. Full-face treatments cost more than targeted spot treatments. Some practices offer package pricing for multi-session series.
