What is a Laser Vein Treatment?
Laser vein treatment uses a focused vascular laser to target and collapse small, visible blood vessels, such as facial spider veins, broken capillaries, and small leg veins. The laser energy heats the vessel until it seals off and is gradually reabsorbed by the body, fading from view.
A session takes 15 to 30 minutes. Facial veins often clear in one to two sessions; leg veins usually need several and respond best alongside sclerotherapy. You may feel a quick snapping sensation. Treated veins can darken or look bruised briefly before clearing over two to six weeks.
Laser is the preferred approach for tiny facial vessels too small to inject, while larger leg veins are often better treated with sclerotherapy. Many providers combine both. A vascular assessment first helps rule out underlying venous disease that may need different care.
How much does a Laser Vein Treatment cost?
Laser vein treatment nationally typically costs $150 to $500 per session, with facial veins usually needing fewer sessions than leg veins.

What to ask your provider
- Is laser or sclerotherapy better for my specific veins?
- How many sessions will I likely need?
- Is laser safe for my skin tone? (some lasers risk discoloration on deeper skin)
- Should I have a vascular assessment first to rule out underlying disease?
- What bruising or darkening should I expect afterward?
- Who operates the laser and what is their training?
