What is a Keloid Injections?
A keloid injection delivers a corticosteroid, most commonly triamcinolone (Kenalog), directly into raised scar tissue to soften and flatten it. It is not a treatment for indented acne scars, which are the opposite problem and belong with subcision, microneedling and resurfacing. And one honest note for the patients most affected: the steroid can lighten the skin around the injection site, and that shows more on deeper skin tones, the same skin most prone to keloids.
