What is Kybella?
Kybella is an FDA-approved injectable that permanently destroys fat cells under the chin (submental fullness, or "double chin"). Its active ingredient, deoxycholic acid, is a naturally occurring molecule that breaks down dietary fat.
Treatment involves a grid of small injections under the chin and takes 15 to 20 minutes. Most patients need 2 to 4 sessions spaced 4 to 6 weeks apart for full results. You will see gradual fat reduction over 4 to 8 weeks after each session.
Kybella is priced per session. The total cost depends on how many sessions you need, which depends on the volume of fat to be reduced. Kybella is effective for pocketed submental fat but not for loose neck skin — Ultherapy or surgical lift is better for skin laxity.
