What is Ultherapy?
Ultherapy is the only FDA-approved non-invasive treatment for lifting the skin on the face, neck, and brow. It uses microfocused ultrasound energy to heat the deep structural layers of the skin — the same SMAS layer addressed in a surgical facelift — stimulating new collagen production without surgery.
Treatment takes 30 to 90 minutes depending on the areas treated. Some discomfort is expected as the ultrasound energy is delivered in the deeper tissue layers. Results develop gradually over 2 to 3 months as new collagen builds, with full results visible at 6 months. Effects typically last 1 to 2 years.
Ultherapy works best for patients with mild to moderate laxity, particularly in the brow, neck, and under-chin area. Patients with severe laxity typically achieve more dramatic results with surgical options.
How much does Ultherapy cost?
Ultherapy nationally typically costs between $2,000 and $4,000 depending on the number of lines (treatment zones) and areas treated.

What to ask your provider
- How many lines (treatment zones) are included in the quoted price?
- What device are you using — Ultherapy, Sofwave, or another ultrasound device?
- Am I a good candidate given my degree of laxity? Would you recommend surgery instead?
- Will I need more than one session to achieve my goals?
- What pain management protocol do you use (numbing cream, oral medication)?
- What results should I realistically expect, and at what timeline?
