What is Rhinoplasty?

Rhinoplasty (commonly called a nose job) is a surgical procedure that reshapes the nose — reducing or refining the bridge, tip, nostrils, or overall size. It is one of the most technically demanding plastic surgery procedures and one of the most commonly performed.

Surgery is performed under general anesthesia and takes 2 to 4 hours. Most patients return to work in 1 to 2 weeks, with the majority of swelling resolved by 3 to 4 months. Final results are visible at 12 months as residual swelling fully clears.

Revision rhinoplasty — correcting a prior nose job — is more complex and typically costs more than a primary procedure. If you've had a previous rhinoplasty, make sure your surgeon specializes in revision cases.
